GETTING HERE
Halloween Island takes place at Alexandra Head, Cardiff Bay
ArrIVE BY Ghost SHIP
Hop aboard the Ghost Ship at Mermaid Quay and glide across Cardiff Bay straight to the Island entrance.

Our boats depart from the waterfront at Mermaid Quay, right beside the Celtic Ring on Roald Dahl Plass, in the heart of Cardiff Bay. Simply head towards the water — you won’t miss us!

Sailings run continuously throughout the day from Mermaid Quay, with the first boat departing at 9:45am and shuttling guests back and forth regularly.

Your ticket time is an arrival window, not a specific sailing. You’re welcome to arrive any time within your one-hour slot (or up to 15 minutes before) to begin your adventure. Once checked in, you’ll join the queue for the next available sailing.

At busy times, there may be longer queues, so please be prepared for this as part of the experience — the voyage is worth the wait! Don’t worry, all ticket holders who wish to travel by boat will be accommodated.

Please note: the Ghost Ship is weather dependent. If it cannot sail, the Island is still fully open and accessible on foot (approx. 15 minutes across the Barrage).
Arrive on FOOt
If you’d prefer to skip the queue, you can also walk to the island — it’s a flat 15-minute stroll from Mermaid Quay along the waterfront. Ask our crew for your Lost Crew Trail map and spot the hidden ghosts along the way to earn your official Ghost Spotter sticker. You can also complete the trail on your return journey and collect your sticker back at Mermaid Quay.
BY CAR
Please do not follow your sat-nav directly to the event – there is no public vehicle road access along the Cardiff Barrage (this also applies to all blue badge holders )

Follow signs for Cardiff Bay (not Alexandra Head).
From the west (M4 J33) → A4232
From the east (M4 J29) → A48 (3rd exit)
